Is Zapal teaching? Or how our CTO spent his weekend.
We were giving a lecture on cybersecurity and digital infrastructure for small and medium-sized businesses!

At Zapal, we work across industries, scales, and complex technical challenges every day. And with each new project, one thing becomes even clearer: a strong digital foundation is what determines whether a business can stay resilient, grow, and handle real pressure.
That’s exactly what our co-founder and CTO, Bohdan, spoke about when he joined the “Vidvazhna 3” program by Diia Business as a guest lecturer.
The focus was on two core areas — reliable digital infrastructure and cybersecurity fundamentals. No theory for the sake of theory. Only what businesses actually face in the real world.
We made a conscious choice to filter out irrelevant “over-the-top” technologies designed to impress rather than help — solutions that might become useful someday far in the future. Instead, we focused on tools, approaches, and software that small and medium-sized businesses can apply right now to grow, rather than accumulate background noise disguised as knowledge.
When talking about digital infrastructure, we approached it from a practical angle: — how to take an honest, clear-eyed look at your existing system; — what’s worth building into the foundation from day one; — which decisions truly support scaling instead of slowing it down; — how to design a structure that works toward results, not against your budget.
In the cybersecurity segment, we focused on what hurts most in practice: — where businesses are most commonly exposed; — how to build a basic yet reliable security setup; — which tools and policies must work daily, not just exist on paper; — how to approach security without unnecessary complexity, but with real impact.
The participants of the program are building projects in healthcare, services, manufacturing, B2B, and creative industries. That’s why it was especially important to show how to choose technologies thoughtfully, create secure environments, and make decisions that don’t collapse under the first serious load.
That’s also why it means a lot to us that our knowledge and hands-on experience proved useful to the women of the “Vidvazhna 3” program. And just as importantly, we truly value the opportunity for direct, live exchange with people who are building their businesses today.
